This Eid Decorate in Shades of Sustainability

As the holy month of Ramadan draws to an end, many of us are looking forward to the  celebration that awaits - Eid. A celebration of community that aligns deeply with us at Even Homes, where we intend to build modern families rooted in the values of care and nourishment for all communities as well as the planet that we all share.

In times of global crisis, remembering that we aren’t separate but people who share the same home - Planet Earth - is a powerful message. And when we follow the principles of sustainability, helpfulness, and kindness, this message stays strong.

After all, if we just spent a month praying and receiving strength to support ourselves and others with mindful choices, shouldn’t the celebration also carry forward the same values?

So, here are three ways you can celebrate Eid in the shades of sustainability !

1.CHOOSE GIFTS THAT LAST LONGER

We do not need to do away with gift giving to be sustainable but rather ensure our gifts are low-impact, and add value to the receiver and us, something which products at Even Homes are designed for. All our products are washable and can last a lifetime and can also be passed down generations ! Now, isn’t that as lovely as the tradition of festivals itself ?

2. BUY LESS, INVEST MORE

We do this by breaking free from unnecessary and harmful consumerism as much as possible and honour our values, through our choices and purchases. Without attaching our identity to our shopping bills, but by reminding ourselves of the community and planet we nourish and that which nourishes us in turn. We invest in items that hold artisanal value and can bring joy not only to the receiver but also the maker !

3. GIVE BACK

Our products that prioritize women empowerment and planetary sustainability, ideas much needed in today’s crisis torn times. Mindfully designed with fair wages and ethical materials, every choice with us, helps you show the values that align with strength and kindness in a world defining itself with a lack of care towards those whom we see as others.

At Even Homes, we celebrate decor across cultures and borders, with quiet fierceness and authenticity.

After all, why should mindfulness and community not go hand in hand in order to celebrate our values of equality?
